The Walker, The Patriots, and The Neighborhood Names

I’m on the Good Question beat again this week and next week. I’m enjoying it, and I hope you are too. Today’s video e-mail is amusing, so go check that out. Me + oversize chair = comedy.

I went to the Walker Art Center this weekend with the family, and on the 7th floor in the Medtronic Gallery, there was a man rolling around on the floor. That’s it. The Walker has a system where you can call a phone number and find out what the art is all about. I had to call the number to find out if the man rolling around was the art. Turns out: yes.

We, like everyone, attended a Super Bowl party last night. Sadly, our neighbor Chad is a hard core Patriots fan. His 3-year-old daughter would come into the room periodically with pom pons and yell, “GO PATS!” It was not enough. The underdog prevailed.

Tonight’s Good Question: How do our neighborhoods get their names? We’ll explain the origin of Uptown, Dinkytown, Frogtown, Lowertown and Midway. All that in 110 seconds! We’re geniuses! Don’t forget to e-mail me your Good Questions. Don’t be afraid to send dumb ones too. Except if your name is Ed Kohler and you’re e-mailing at 2 in the morning. Nothing good happens after midnight, people.
