Good Question Says Good Bye
Tonight at 10 p.m.: the final “Good Question” segment reported by Ben Tracy. As you may or may not know, Ben is leaving WCCO-TV to go to CBS News in Los Angeles. It’s been quite awhile since we’ve had a WCCO person promoted up to the network, so this is a pretty big deal.
I think he’s putting together some of the best clips from the more than 300 questions he’s answered over the past two years. I hope he’ll admit once and for all, that they were not all, in fact, Good questions.
Ben’s a real talent, and he’ll do amazing work at CBS. We had his going away party last week, and I got to meet his family. Ben grew up in St. Paul, so I know his family is taking it pretty hard that he’s up and leaving after three short years to go to Los Angeles. But I have a feeling that if Ben ever wants to come back home, he won’t have a problem landing a gig here at WCCO.
Ben and I worked together at WISN in Milwaukee and we went to college together at Marquette University. I always got the job first, and then a year later Ben joined me. At his party Ben said he’s got a plan to get me to CBS in L.A. Since he will be working in the same complex where The Price Is Right tapes, he’s going to knock off Drew Carey, and get me that gig. Perfect.
Joe Berglove is as much a part of Good Question as Ben is, and Joe’s not going anywhere. I’m not sure what the powers-that-be are doing with Good Question, but I’ll let you know when I hear anything. (It’s continuing, we just don’t know who’s taking it over, or when that person will start, etc.)
