We Did It! We're The Best! WCCO to The Rescue!

Who wants to watch an awful football game? You do? Excellent! You’re in luck. Again, this week, we bought a giant stack of tickets to this Sunday’s Minnesota Vikings game.

You’ve wanted to see Daunte Culpepper back in the dome, didn’t you? I hope you didn’t want to see Adrian Peterson. Cuz that’s not gonna happen. And that’s why the game didn’t sell out, I imagine.

Anyway, I guess I can kiss goodbye my pay raise, because we had to buy tickets to put the game on TV. AGAIN. This isn’t cheap, people. $60 a pop (approximately) for these tickets. According to the Strib’s Access Vikings blog the total cost was $115,000.

But, we have a post-game show scheduled to air after the game, and if there was no game, there’d be no post-game show, and then we’d be airing repeats of Coach or something. That would cost a lot more than just my raise. At that point, you’re talking Don Shelby money.

Miller Brewing also came in and bought up some of the remaining 2,000 tickets. Miller has a lot of beer to sell Sunday to make up for that purchase.
