Anchor Blooper: Thank Goodness It Wasn't Me
As a tee-vee guy, I live in fear of one of my bloopers going viral and popping up all over the internet. My former co-worker is in the middle of that storm right now. It’s not ideal when doing a story about a woman struck by lightning to have your tape start skipping. Nice.
Mike Mickle was an anchor at KWQC-TV in Davenport, IA when I was weekend anchor there from 1997-2000.
I sent Mike an e-mail last night, he wrote back, “Yep, unfortunately I’ve seen the blooper. It’s also on youtube and as of this morning, I’ve had more than 67 thousand hits. That’s my life. My friends hit the big time by going to Minneapolis. I gain fame by looking like an idiot on popular internet sites.”
I made him feel better by sending him this link, proving that I too look like an idiot on the internet. That’s what this blog is all about, actually.
