Win An Emmy, Get A Toothbrush
So a couple weeks ago I won an Emmy Award for Online personality. Faithful readers of the blog are well aware of my online personality, and most of you are probably thinking, “They gave DeRusha an award?” Incredibly, they did.
I have an awesome dental hygienist at the Park Dental in Maple Grove. Her name is Jamie. She and I pretty much joke and laugh through the entire cleaning. I believe it’s important to laugh when someone is scraping tartar off your teeth.
The biggest thing I mock Jamie about is the insanely cheap toothbrushes Park Dental hands out to patients after each cleaning. It isn’t even a name brand brush. It’s a cheap, awful, generic brush with “Park Dental” embossed on it.
No one in their right mind uses these things. I pay a lot of money for a cleaning, you’d think they could throw in a nice brush. So when Jamie heard about my award, she sent a lovely bouquet to me.
No one sent me flowers, but Jamie sent me toothbrushes. Wonderful. Those will come in real handy for scrubbing the grout in my bathroom at home. Who am I kidding? I never clean the bathroom.
